Cleaning After Renovation: What to Discuss Before Booking

Cleaning after building work can be different from an ordinary deep clean. Dust, leftover materials, and newly installed finishes may need a different scope or a specialist. Explain the project before assuming a standard cleaning appointment will cover it.

Is post-renovation work included in a regular deep clean?

Do not assume it is. Send a description of the completed work and the remaining condition so the company can confirm whether it can accept the job and what tasks are included.

Information to share first

  • The rooms affected and the type of building work.
  • Whether construction is finished and contractors have removed debris.
  • The amount of visible dust and any leftover materials.
  • New floors, stone, cabinets, or other finishes and their care instructions.
  • Utilities, ventilation, safe access, and the desired handover date.

Separate cleaning from specialist work

Hauling construction waste, removing paint or adhesive, and dealing with hazardous materials should not be treated as ordinary housekeeping tasks. Raise those concerns with the contractor or an appropriate specialist before arranging routine cleaning.

Why should cleaning follow the final work?

If contractors are still sanding, cutting, or moving materials, recently cleaned surfaces may collect dust again. Plan the cleaning after the work and debris removal are complete, with time to review the result before occupying the space.

Can Mrs. Clean take the appointment?

Contact the team with the project details. Availability and acceptance depend on the actual condition and requested scope. This guide does not add a guaranteed post-construction service to the standard service list.
